2. The committee approved the minutes of the March 20, 1985 meeting with the following changes: delete B. Baker and spell C. Boccella under CMA staff attendees; delete "...and environmental..." under item 5.A.; and modify item 6.C. to read, "The committee agreed to waive its rules of procedure, which require advance notice to review policy recommendations at committee meeting, in order to discuss the right-to-know policy proposal."
3. Gaydos Hearings The committee discussed CMA's May 8 testimony on hazard communication and product management scheduled before Congressman Gaydos' Subcommittee on Health and Safety. Committee members comments will be included in the next draft of our testimony. G. Baker will contact Dow to obtain product steward ship materials for the hearing.

Community Rlght-to-Know Since its rules of procedure call for advance notice to review policy rec ommendations at committee meetings, the committee agreed to waive the rule at the meeting to discuss the community right-to-know policy proposal. The committee approved the policy proposed in the meeting book, with the first full paragraph on the second page beginning with "However, in the event..." deleted. The committee asked the Right-to-Know Task Group to detail specific policy provisions, provide rationale for them, and obtain committee review.
Update of TSCA Inventory The committee discussed CMA's comments on issues raised in EPA's proposed' rule to update the TSCA inventory. It agreed to the Notification and Report ing Task Group developing comments in accord with the outline in the meeting book. Comments of committee members will be considered by the task group. The task group will send the committee draft comments on the rule for its approval before submitting them to EPA.
Industry Handbook for Preparing Premanufacture Notice (PMNs) The committee approved the project and $15,000 in research and consulting funds to develop an industry handbook for preparing PMNs. The Notification and Reporting Task Group will use the money to scope the handbook project.

7. Workshop on Risk Analysis in the Chemical Industry The committee agreed to proceed with planning for the workshop, scheduled for September 23-24. The Risk Assessment Task Group will refer to the meeting as a "workshop" rather than a "symposium."
8. Review on Dose Response Relationship Project Members of the committee approved $15,000 in research and consulting funds for the Harvard University project. Approval is contingent upon Harvard obtaining sufficient funds from other organizations to complete the project.
9. Society for Risk Analysis (SRA) Annual Meeting

The committee approved $2,000 in research and consulting funds to help
finance the 1985 SRA annual meeting. CMA will be listed as a supporter of
the meeting in the program.
10. Conference on Quality Assurance in Toxicology Testing The chairman reported to the committee that he and the vice chairman had approved $5,000 in research and consulting funds to help support the confer ence proposed by the American Industrial Health Council and the National Toxicology Program. CMA will participate in planning the conference and editing its proceedings.

11. May 15-17 Planning Meeting A. The committee agreed to pay Joseph F. Coates, Inc. $2,500 plus expenses to speak at the planning meeting on emerging Issues and trends in the chemical industry. He is slated to speak in the morning on May 15.
B. C. Drucker reviewed with the committee details of the planning meeting. She will send each member a briefing package prior to the meeting.
