Grumbles March 22, 1991 VISTA INFORMATION ON THE RENE DUBOS ENVIRONMENTAL AWARDS MEETING I spoke with Joe Gillan of Exxon Chemical's Public Relations Department regarding the subject dinner, the forum, and the Rene Dubos Center for Human Environment, Inc. According to Joe, this dinner is a recognition ceremony and fund raising activity for the Rene Dubos Center. This organization is an "environmental based" group in NYC that is building a reputation as a "bridging" organization between industry, academic and environmental groups. It does this by bringing these groups together to discuss issues and by developing educational programs through learning institutions and industry. The society is about 8 years old according to him. He said 20 to 40 people were asked to be Vice Chairman and they hoped half would accept. I called the Rene Dubos Center and should have additional information on the organization by Monday. T. G.
