Reason: Not a small business Provided CBI warning to facility The following information was obtained verbally from Clay Murral and Tyler Bryant, unless otherwise noted. Company Ownership: This well pad, along with several others in Ohio, was constructed by Eclipse Resources and began production in 2017. In 2019, Eclipse merged with Blue Ridge Resources to create Montage Resources, which was bought by SWN in 2020. Process Description: At the well pad, an oil/gas/water emulsion is extracted from the formation through four wells that each flow into a sand trap, a gas processing unit, and a three-phase separator. A heater treater is used to drive off additional vapors from the oil. From there, the oil/condensate is sent into five tanks, and the produced water is sent into three tanks. The tanks feed to a combustor, which is the primary control device. The effluent is transported by truck to EnLink Midstream's Borton gathering Station, located approx. 5 miles west-southwest. The gas is compressed into lines to third-party midstream companies. Staff Interview: Facility staff said that maintenance, repairs, and leak detection are performed on the thief hatches, which are vertical flanges on top of each tank. The frequency depends on the type of material on the seals, which can have different life expectancies. Maintenance on other components varies. Staff also said they plan to drill three new wells on the existing site. The FLIR camera showed emissions from the thief hatch on condensate tank #3. Photos and/or Videos: were taken during the inspection.
