T. Woods Summary: Procedures for asbestos insulation removal and disposal have been set by the EPA and OSHA. Our DPMC order requires insulation to be bagged and placed in drums for transport to approved landfill. DPMC is beginning a several-year project to cover, repair or replace exposed asbestos insulation in the Refinery. This will increase the demand for drums of this type. Action Items: (1) Environmental Operations has determined that we may continue to use emptied inetal drums as well as fiber drums. (2) Environmental Operations has determined that there may be an option to drumming bagged material for storage and transport. The option would be to collect and transport "double-bagged" insulation in closed vehicles (DOT required). This would be a significant change from current practices. J. T. Woods will refer this option to the Environmental Conservation team for further review. (3). Purchasing Material Control will maintain a stock of drums (metal initially and fiber as necessary) for routine work. (R. R. Priger/D. V.
