On vehicles fitted with 4-310 transmission, unhook and iwnsvtim dutch retake arm return spring ins bracket on the dutch touting $ lug on the arm. 5. Place a suitable jdi under the dutch housing portion of me sump and support the engine. 6. Slide the clutch release bearing and hub assembly off the fingers of the release arm fork and withdraw the bearing and hub assembly via the transmission main drive shaft aperture in the dutch housing. 7. Press the clutch release bearing off the hub. 8. Slacken, unscrew and remove the self locking nut and the centre bolt from the engine right-hand rear mounting. 9. Slacken, unscrew and remove the four bolts securing the engine right-hand rear mounting bracket to the clutch housing and withdraw the bracket. 10. Slacken, unscrew and remove the four bolts securing the engine left-hand rear mounting bracket to the,dutch housing. 11. Slacken, unscrew and remove the fifteen bolts securing the clutch housing to the engine. Move aside any cables or pipes that were clipped to the housing. Pull the housing off the two locating dowels and lower it to the floor. Move the housing away from the vehicle. 12. Remove all the asbestos clutch lining dust from the clutch housing.___________________ WARNING: Asbestos dust is injurious to health and must not be Inhaled. Do not blow the dust off with an air line. Use a suitable vacuum cleanar. If a vacuum cleanar la not available, use personal protective breathing equipment or a suitable face mask and remove the dust carefully with a brush or fag. Collect the dust in a sealable plastic bag or envelope for disposal.______ '_______________________ 13. Remove the dutch release arm rubber gaiter from the clutch housing aperture and puli it off the release arm. 14. Pull the clutch release arm to disengage it from the trunnion pivot ball and remove the arm from the housing. 15. Slacken, unscrew and remove the release arm pivot trunnion ball from the clutch housing. 16. On vehides fitted with the Ford 4-310 transmission, slacken the clutch release arm free play adjusting screw locknut. Unscrew and remove the adjusting screw from the housing. 17. Thoroughly wash and clean all component parts. Discard the old rubber gaiter, self locking nuts and all lockwashers. 18. Inspect ail parts for excessive wear or damage. Replace all unserviceable parts with new parts. To install 19. On vehicles fitted with the Ford 4-310 transmission, screw the clutch release arm free play adjusting screw and locknut assembly into its location in the clutch housing. 20. Screw the release arm pivot trunnion ball into its location inside the clutch housing together with a new lockwasher and tighten to the specified torque (see specifications). 21. PJace a smear of grease on both the pivot trunnion ball and in the ball socket in the release arm. Lift the retaining spring clip with a screwdriver and slide the arm over the ball until the ball is entered securely in the socket. Release the retaining spring clip. 22. Pull a new release arm rubber gaiter over the arm and position the gaiter groove on the rim of the clutch housing aperture. 23. Press the clutch release bearing onto the hub.
