Asbestos fiber sampling and counting is done by a Technician assigned to Environmental Control. 2. Has the initial workplace environmental monitoring survey been conducted? If not, discuss. There is one location where asbestos containing material (marlnite) is worked. This work is performed irregularly and' the area was monitored in November, 1972. Other areas are checked upon notification by the maintenance department. Checking has also been done in pot repair building during Hi-Temp* cutting and pot shell dumping. *A11 future purchases will be either Skaael or asbestos-free El-Temp. 3. Plans have been made to set aside a section of the solid waste disposal area for burying the asbestos waste. 16. The employee was weaving the sampler while cutting the Bi-Temp block. Sampling period was 48.5 minutes. Some of the dust was visible on the filter so two slides were prepared, one as is, and the other one with the surface dust knocked off. The results are shown below.
