Miami, Florida Dear Mr. Lopez: I am sorry to have to tell you that the report to which you have referred in your letter of November 23, concerning men who have been working with "Fiberglas," has not been prepared for publication and distribution. The observations were made by one of our colleagues whom we called on for help, following the unexpected death of one of the members of our staff (who had intended to carry i&era out), and a summary of the results was, assembled hastily for temporary purposes. They will be prepared for publication when I can get to the job, but I've been too heavily engaged in other work to get at it. It will be of interest to you to know that members of our staff carried out the Survey of the physical facilities of one of the plants, and that we anticipate the extension of this work to a series of other production and fabrication plants, in an effort to "cover the water front" in relation to fibrous glass. You will also be glad to know that we have not, as yet, found any evidence of injurious effects among the workmen in the plant which we have investigated. If there are significant difficulties in the others we should be able to find them. The problem here, for your information, as we view it, is different, in a number of respects, from that of asbestos.
