In my previous email, 2 documents were attached: the EPEE reply to the PFAS EU Public Consultation the summary of this reply. As you were inviting to, I send them back to you, so they can be shared with the Belgian Committee for REACH (BCR). I also add a presentation which gives some insights also of our submission to the PFAS Public Consultation. Could you confirm these documents will well be shared with the BCR? As competent authority in Belgium for REACH we can reply to your request. Unfortunately we are not able to organize any more stakeholder meetings on the universal PFAS restriction dossier this year. However you are kindly invited to send us written information, which we can then share with the Belgian Committee for REACH (BCR), who will be coordinating the Belgium position on this restriction dossier once the proposal will be tabled at the REACH Committee. For more information on the BCR you can consult the following webpage: https://www.reachinbelgium.be/index.php?page=comite-reach&hl=en US Kind regards, Health Food Chain Safety Environment Chemicals policy advisor @health.fgov.be Avenue Galilee / Galileelaan, 5 box 2 1210 Bruxelles www.health.belgium.be .be From: @epeeglobal.org> Sent: mercredi, 6 decembre 2023 15:53 To: (SPF Sante Publique - FOD Volksgezondheid) @health.fgov.be> Cc: Fluor Gas Federal Belgian Authority (SPF Sante Publique - FOD Volksgezondheid) @health.fgov.be> Subject: PFAS Restriction proposal -- Request for meeting with EPEE Dear I hope you are doing well! I am happy to contact you on behalf of EPEE, the voice of the Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pump (RACHP) manufacturers in Europe, an association based in Brussels. In the context of the PFAS Universal Restriction proposal submitted to the European chemical agency ECHA, we would like to highlight to you and your ministry our concerns and recommendations. 2 Indeed, the proposal covers a wide range of fluorinated gases, used in our sector as refrigerants, and all fluoropolymers, used as essential components for the proper functioning of the equipment. The RACHP products provide heating and cooling to society: refrigeration for food supplies, safe transport of medicines and vaccines, comfort to citizens in homes and offices, decarbonization of buildings with heat pumps, etc. Our products are compliant with high energy efficiency requirements. Please find in attachment a summary of our submission to ECHA, and our full submission for your information. We would be happy to have an online or in-person meeting with you in the coming weeks to share our position and discuss the points that your ministry and that Belgium may want to consider when the Restriction proposal will be assessed by Member States. Thank you for your kind consideration!
