MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEET IMG The meeting was advised that the minutes of the previous meeting held on June 19th and 20th 1968 had been distributed. Upon motion duly made, seconded and unanimously passed, it was RESOLVED; To accept the minutes of the meeting held on June 19th and 20th 1968 as distributed. PRESIDENT'S REPORT ' It has been both a pleasure and a privilege to serve as your president during the past two years. I want to extend special thanks to those members who served actively on com mittees. Vou will hear the results of their work in conmittee reports during this meeting. While protests, sit-ins and demonstrations seem to be the usual activity of many organizations today, J am pleased to report that your Institute has operated in a rather low key, quiet manner during the past year. This does not mean our important committees have not been busy and effective. The challenge to industry in general and to our indistry in particular will reach an important, possibly a critical level during the next twelve months. We need not, however, await thair development in an atmosphere of fear. This institute by maintaining an awareness of the progress of legislative developments, by establishing close contact with regulatory agencies and by rendering cooperation through repeated submission of substantial data has established an enviable positior of recognition at both state and federal levels. tl:-. recognition of F.M.S. I. as the authority on friction materials
