National Cattlemen's Beef Association February 20, 2017 E. Scott Pruitt Administrator U.S. Environmental Protection Agency 1200 Pennsylvania Ave, NW Washington, DC 20004 Administrator Pruitt, I write on behalf of the National Cattlemen's Beef Association (NCBA) to request you to speak at the 2017 NCBA Legislative Conference. NCBA is the oldest trade association that represents U.S. cattle producers, with more than 30,000 direct members. Through state affiliates NCBA represents 175,000 of America's farmers and ranchers who provide a significant portion of the nation's food supply. Cattle producers across the country rallied in support of your nomination to be the EPA Administrator, as memorialized in the enclosed letters. The audience for the 2017 NCBA Legislative Conference is three-hundred cattle producers who will travel to Washington DC to meet with key congressional and agency influencers on priority issues. A key issue for cattle producers is the "waters of the U.S." (WOTUS) rule, which stands to negatively impact many of our members. NCBA hopes to work with you and relevant staff at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to find a path forward that works for cattle producers, protects water quality, and follows the rule oflaw. Should you accept this offer, you will be our keynote speaker. Your speaking engagement will take place on the morning of Thursday, March 30th, at 10:00am. The event location is the Liaison Capitol Hill Hotel, 415 New Jersey Ave NW, Washington DC 20001. We would be honored for you to join us, and we sincerely hope you will find the time to speak at this landmark event. Many NCBA members have already reached out to me expressing gratitude that you have been confirmed as the EPA Administrator and hopeful for the future. You can reach me directly at the phone number or email address below. Sincerely, Scott Yager, Environmental Counsel 202-879-9102 syagcr@bcef.org Center for Government Affairs 1275 f'ennsylvania Avenue, NW Suite 801 Washington, DC 20004 (202) 347-0228 www.beefusa.org 17cv01906 Sierra Club v.
