Kaminski NIOSH 4676 Columbia Parkway Cincinnati, OH 45226 Dear Ms. Kaminski: I recently received a copy of NIOSH Table 1 "Reported cases of Angiosarcoma of the Liver Among Vinyl Chloride Polymerization Workers", dated October, 1980. Unfortunately, it came by a circuitous route from England courtesy of Dr. John Stafford of ICI. Dr. Stafford and I try to share information on vinyl chloride but it should not be necessary to depend upon transAtlantic mail to get revised tables. Is there a distribution system for these tables? Are they updated when there is a new case, a change in the status of a case, or if some other new information is obtained? Is there any possibility of getting on a distribution list for revised tables? Since information of this type is extremely important to those of us in industry who have the responsiblity for employee health, there should be a mechanism to transmit it to the health professionals in the concerned companies. May I suggest that as revisions in the table occur, a copy be sent to Mr. John Lawrence of SPI, Dr. Carol Stack of CMA, and myself as chairman of VCM committees of SPI and CMA. We will arrange to distribute the report to our membership as we have done with previous versions. I make this suggestion because it is not correct that those responsible for employee health, and who can, in fact, do some good with the information are not receiving it promptly.
