Howard, Esq., ,urner &. \iewall Ltd., Asbestos House, Fountain Street, Manchester 2, ENGLAND. Dear Mr. Howard, . i `. . T O S INFORMATION COMMITTEE I thank you for your letter of the 23rd April and have duly noted what you write. I understand that a possible meeting with Danish shipbuilders cannot be before June, and have given much thought to your question whether a meeting with Danish agents, but excluding the ultimate customers, could be arranged. Actually my suggestion would be to push out any official or semi-official meetings until it will be possible to arrange a meeting with the actual consumers, i.e. the shipyards. In the first place we do not know how much the other agents are informed or involved, except for the fact that at least one of them is trying to be very helpful in putting up to the shipyards quotations for materials which will be able to replace asbestos. Our experience also tells us thut no matter how secret or how confidential you make a meeting, something is bound to come out, and in this particular case we would not like the Danish shipyards to find out that a meeting on the subject of the report issued to them by Mr. Homann Pedersen has been held in Copen hagen without any information or invitation having been sent to the yards. I kindly ask you to consider theso comments and let me know if you agree with our suggestions that no meetings should bo arranged until it will be possible to invite also the shipyards. These remarks do not include a possible meeting between Dr. Holmes and Dr. Grut.
