Hank DATE SUBJECT June 7, 1982 VDCM Drumming Some time ago (perhaps two years or more), VDCM in drums was officially removed from the commercial list of PPG products available from Lake Charles. As a result, we were not required to initiate any plans for installing drum-loading facilities that would meet environmental standards. During the first five months of 1982, we have shipped several drums (presumably samples for prospective customers) and have filled several others with off-color heels returned by customers in our tank cars. This practice cannot continue on any regular basis without properly addressing the environmental issue. I am referring to area labeling and monitoring as well as personnel protection and monitoring. Please notify me if and when the need again arises to load VDCM into a drum, regardless of the reason. If the need is the result of a customer request, I would appreciate notification as soon as possible so that we can once again pursue a solution to this problem.
