They have received reports on all persons sent to the pulmonary special ists, and he confirms asbestos-related abnormalities. They have concluded that although there may have been Du Pont exposure, there was also prior non-Du Pont exposure. Because of the prior exposure, the plant has not accepted these confirmed cases as Du Pont responsibility. I suggested that they might want to review their decision on this since it is not the same thinking that some other plants in PPD have been following. The figures for active employees and pensioners are shown below. Incidentally, in previous estimates by me, as to the "pro jected" number of cases in PPD, I included the 10 active employees whose specialists' reports were pending.
