In response to your question, you're right most of our experiences are with the 3-M Australia/SLOBERG F3 products that include (RF6, RF3 and RF1). The congressional response tends to review relevant comments to F3 foams dealing with SOLBERG. Also Back in 2003, we did a test series for NAVFAC that tested some other F3 foams, which also could not meet the MILSPEC requirements. Hope this helps!! My answer to this is we have not considered altering the mil-spec because no PFC-free product has successfully passed the fire performance tests of the MIL-spec. But I would like to have some more background in our pocket. What fluorine free products have you played around with - either because the vendor asked you to or because you wanted to find out for yourself, and how did they do. I know you tried Solberg, what else? Thanks, Mary 4t 4t 4t 4t 4t 4t 4t 4t 4t 4t 4t 4t 4t 4t 4t 4t 4t 4t 3. Given DOD's investment into research of PFC-free foams that can meet performance requirements, to what extent has the Navy considered revising in the near term the AFFF MILSPEC to remove the requirement that AFFF contain PFCs, to allow DOD to purchase and use any type of foam (now and in the future) that meets performance requirements? a. How might such a revision in the near term be beneficial to DOD? b. How might such a revision in the near term not be beneficial to DOD? v/ r, Mary Hunstad TWH - Fire Protection Systems And Material Fire Performance SEA 05P5 WNYD, bldg. 197, 3W-2827 202-781-3632 US00004811 ---- Original Message---From: Hunstad, Mary P CIV NAVSEA HQ, SEA 05 Sent: Monday, May 15, 2017 12:56 PM To: 'John P.
