Ko.hr: : ' I have Been .considering vhat should be done with respect to a ' further- hygienic survey of your plant, in discussions with Dr. lyder and Mr. Cholak, who is in charge of our analytical work . both in the Laboratory and in the course of surveys of this type. It is aone-thing of a problem to determine just how much work should be done, since neither you nor- we want the inconvenience and expense of unnecessary work. In our feeling the answer to these questions . could best be obtained by a conference with someone o f 'your group who is fully informed in these m a t t e r s . This could be done in the course of a -visit to your plane, or alternately one of your men could confer- with M r .,Cholak, and if, need be with me also, here at the Laboratory. On the basis of either arrangement we could determine just v h a t i s ;to be tested for on the basis of the apparent significance oi the potential h a z a r d , and ve could get a very clear idea of the amount of sampling that would have to be done, the methods inquired for analysis and the amount of work which would be required to do the job. On this basis we could make an estimate of the cost with a very high degree of precision. I do not mean to indicate that ve believe that any large sum of money is involved. On the other* hand, the expense of the work might be two or three times as much as is necessary to accomplish the desired practical result, unless ve have a clear understanding of what and how much we are to do before we actually b e g i n .
