This memorandum will report the results of a study to remove soya bean oil "BULUX" resin from 1063-099. Unis primer was originally developed to meet the requirements of Stran Steel Specification 3a 5*B-11 and to dry very rapidly (be tack free in 5-10 minutes). This product was originally based on PRC-P-12881 (51,2# soya bean oil acld-pentaerythritol, 46.5# phthalio pentaerythri tide resin containing 2.3# excess pentaerythritol). Inasmuch as soya bean oil was not available for this product early this year, an exact linseed oil analog of the above resin was evaluated. This linseed oil resin, coded PRC-P-36956, was actually RC-395 cut in Asst flashing solvents The solvent composition was H-257/H-15 *

ance resulted from this resin change and 1063-099 was revised to the linseed oil basis. .Release Letter Wo. 894-A was prepared to recommend adoption of this revised 1063-099. However, to our icnowledge, none of this product was sold because the customer de sired a closer match to the color standard specified, which necessitated a deviation from the pigmentation required by the specifioation. Subsequently, marked changes in the pigmentation were neoessary in order to meet the customer's cost requirements.
