We had a great turnout, good weather, and everything went just according to plan. I've received very positive feedback from many of the visitors ------ they were impressed with our safety program, the plant, and our products. In case you did not catch all of the publicity, there were articles about our VPP celebration in last Tuesday and Friday's Anniston Star and also a story on WJSU-TV 40 last Tuesday. We are now in a sold out position on the Therminols column at least through next spring. There is a high demand for T-75 and we have also received a large T-59 order. In addition we have large amount of T-66 to reprocess. Thanks to everyone for the good effort getting the Santowax column cleaned this weekend. Let's get it safely and quickly back on line so there is no interruption in T-75 production! This is our #1 production priority, let's stay focused and ensure that we meet our customer's expectations. TECHNICAL - A meeting was held in Luling to discuss PNP quality for use in APAP. Excellent dialogue was established to address APAP quality needs and technical reviews will be held on a routine basis. A meeting will be held on Monday, October 25 to review DIPB progress. Marv Gibbs and Dan Knowles from St. Louis will be in the plant. TOTAL QUALITY/ISO 9000 - Det Norske Veritas Industry (DNVI) \ Recommendation for Certification Approval has been accepted and } the Anniston Plant Quality System is now certified to ISO 9002 / for the manufacture and delivery of Biphenyl, Santowax, Therminol / 75, Paranitrophenol, Therminol 59, Therminol 66, Therminol VP-1, and HB-40. The certificate number is QSC 2895 and is valid for i three years. DNVI will conduct surveillance audits every six \ months to ensure continued maintenance of the quality system with \ the first follow-up audit in February. S&PP Audit - April 94 Environmental Safety & Health Redesign - 4th Qtr 94 BUSINESS REDESIGN - CAPITAL PROJECT MANAGEMENT - The plant Capital Project Management Implementation Team is issuing section four of the revised Project Procedure Manual this week. The Plant Capital Board has been established and will meet for the first time this week to review all submitted projects. ACCOUNTING - GAINSHARE - One of the measures of performance for a payout of the gainshare pool is safety meeting attendance. Through the month of September, our plant percentage of attendance at safety meetings is 91% attendance. Our baseline goal to meet GS requirements is at lease 80% attendance. Plant Gross Profit through the month of September is $5980K. We're under budget by $3.0M, but hopefully a strong 4th quarter will improve that number. Controllable cost is better than budget with $143K available for payout. A cost review was conducted with the Plant Staff and FLS's last week. In addition, a review of plant cost and an exchange of cost savings ideas will be held this week with visitors from St. Louis and other Monsanto plants.
