BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH OF JOHN H. CRADDOCK
John H. Craddock is Product and Environmental Safety Director for Monsanto Industrial Chemicals Co., an operating unit
of Monsanto Company. Born May 30, 1936, in Memphis, Tenn., Dr. Craddock was
graduated from Memphis State University in 1958 with his B.S.
degree in chemistry. He received his Ph.D. degree in chemistry
from Vanderbilt University in 1961.

Prior to his association with Monsanto Company,
Dr. Craddock served as a Research. Associate at Princeton University
and later as a Research Chemist with M. W. Kellogg Company, Division
of Pullman, Inc., of Jersey City, N.J.
He joined Monsanto in 1965 as a Research Specialist in the Corporate Research Department. Since that time he has held several research and development assignments. Dr. Craddock trans
ferred to the former Hydrocarbons and Polymers Division in 1973 and
became Supervisor, Commercial Development for Petrochemicals.. He returned to MIC in 1974 and assumed the position of Project Manager, Commercial Development, for Food and Fine Chemicals.
Dr. Craddock was appointed Manager, MIC Products and Environmental Safety in 1978 and assumed his present position in
May 1981. He is responsible for coordinating and managing product
safety information and activities related to health and the
environment. He has particular expertise regarding polychlorinated
biphenyl (PCB) compounds.

He is the author of numerous technical publications and
holds several U.S. and foreign patents in the areas of transition
metal complexes and homogeneous catalysis systems for petrochemical
synthesis. Dr. Craddock has been appointed to serve as a member of
the National Academy of Sciences Committee on Disposal of
Hazardous industrial Wastes sponsored by the National Materials
Advisory Board of the National Research Council. He is a member
of several professional societies including the American Chemical
Society, American Institute of Chemists and The Chemical Society
(London).

He is married to the former Kathryn Teach of Rochester,
Ind. They have two children.
