I did not find any file tha_jaatches this_cohort. I spent 6 hours on this task (@ $B5/hr * $510). I have tape scans, listings of the files, etc. available if you would like a copy for documentation purposes (several pages long). The next steps in the process of locating the correct data file would be: 1. Look through the large blue binder that lists the projects and tape numbers, and try to identify which tapes might have the info. I/m not sure who has that binder now (perhaps you or Otto?). 2. Locate the identified tapes, bring them to UCB, load them and do tape scans. 3. Look at the files on the tapes and try to match one to the correct master data file (N1Q,173). 4. If i locate the master file, put file onto CMS disk. 5. Read flat file into a SAS data set and mask some of the causes of death in order to comply with original agreements with some of the states. 6. Create a new sas or eras data set, and put it on disk or tape. Please let me know what you would like me to do next. CMA112670
