EP-548-S STORM DAMAGE PROJECT - AIRLINE ROAD, EMBANKMENT REPAIR EL PASO:REFINERY 1.0 SCOPE The work consists of repairing the existing pipe and fence supports and installing an erosion control embankment adjacent*to Airline pipeway. 2.0 GENERAL PROVISIONS CL Refer to Addendum #1 dated October, 1981, and entitled "Additional Provisions for the Performance of Work," Pages A1 through A15 and Appendices BI and BII (attached), for those items general to the performance of all contractors within the refinery. ~ 2.1 COMPANY Review and Approval CONTRACTOR shall require written approval from COMPANY when any material substitutions or changes are made to the specifications hereunder. 2.2 Salvable and Non-Salvable Material 2.21 All salvable material and equipment shall remain the property of COMPANY, except thosemnaterials supplied by the CONTRACTOR not incorporated in the finished facility. Declaration of items as salvable or non-saivable shall be made by COMPANY Representative. 2.22 All salvable material shall be removed by CONTRACTOR to El Paso Refinery Storehouse area. This shall be handled as "new" material and not damaged so as to be unserviceable. 2.23 All items declared by theCOMPANY Representative to be non-salvable shall become the property of CONTRACTOR and be disposed of outside COMPANY'S premises. Non-salvable material does not include excavated material whichrwill be disposed of on COMPANY premises. 2.3 Schedule CONTRACTOR shall maintain a~&>nstruction schedule for all phases of work and shall conform with the commencement and completion dates set forth in the Facing Sheet of this Agreement. CONTRACTOR shall submit this construction schedule to COMPANY within one week after the date of this Agreement and shall resubmit an updated schedule for COMPANY reviewreach week until construction is completed. 2.4 Other Contracts ~ COMPANY reserves the right toilet other contracts or perform other services in connection with CONTRACTOR'S work hereunder. CONTRACTOR shall afford others equitable opportunities for the introduction and storage of their materials and the execution of .their work and shall properly coordinate its work with theirs. -- 2.5 Work Space and Storage Area 4=E If the CONTRACTOR requires,"The COMPANY will assign space for CONTRACTOR'S office, work space and storage area. 2.6 Temporary Construction Facilities, Materials and Equipment 2.61 CONTRACTOR shall provide and install all necessary temporary facilities including, but not limited to, tool rooms, locker rooms, toilets, office and storehouse. All temporary installations shall be subject to approval by COMPANY prior to installation. 2.62 In addition, CONTRACTOR shall provide all necessary temporary equipment and material including, but not limited to, shoring, concrete forms, bracing, ladders, scaffolding, staging, drop cloths and tarpaulins. 2.63 CONTRACTOR shall maintain all temporary facilities, material and equipment in a safe and adequate manner and remove them immediately upon completion of the work requiring their presence. 2.7 Guarantee =S^ CONTRACTOR guarantees thatrall of the materials and labor furnished hereunder by CONTRACTOR shall be free from defects in workmanship for a period of one year from the date of the Acceptance of the Facility by COMPANY. Any such materials and/or workmanship found to be defective during said one year period and any damage caused by such defects or the repair or replacement of them shall be replaced by CONTRACTOR at his sole expense with materials and workmanship that are satisfactory to COMPANY. COMPANY will notify CONTRACTOR of such defects in writing and CONTRACTOR shall promptly thereafter replace the defective materials Chevron BB 014986 CHEVRON U.S.A. INC. If CONTRACTORidoes not commence and pursue with diligence the replacement of defective materials and/or workmanship, or damage caused by such defect or such replacement, COMPANY may replace defective material and/or workmanship and repair any damage, and COMPANY shall deduct from any sums due or to become due CONTRACTOR or CONTRACTOR shall reimburseiCOMPANY for all of COMPANY'S expenses in replacing such defective material and/or workmanship and repairing such damage. 3.0 PERFORMANCE OF WORK __ CONTRACTOR shall be solely responsible for thorough craft inspection during construction and for the quality of the^work and material. COMPANY will make such inspection as COMPANY may desire in order to check the progress and quality of the work and material, to see thatJCONTRACTOR'S employees are properly qualified in their respective crafts, that workmanship is of an acceptable grade, and that all requirements of this specificaiion are being met. Such inspection and/or any other inspection or testing by COMPANY shall not relieve CONTRACTOR of full responsibility for the work hereunder. 4.0 HANDLING AND FURNISHING OF MATERIAL 4.1 Materials Supplied by COMPANY COMPANY will furnish only such materials and equipment as indicated in this specification and the drawings -listed in Section 7 of this specification. 4.11 Material Supplied by COMPANY and Corresponding Paper Work 4.111 CONTRACTOR shall use COMPANY Purchasing Department Form GO-111, to requisition material required for the work hereunder. The form shall be submitted to COMPANY Representative atrleast 24 hours in advance of the time material is required. Only"the COMPANY Representative can authorize the release of materials. The material shall be picked up by CONTRACTOR atthe El Paso Refinery Storehouse. CONTRACTOR shall notify the COMPANY of any damage so that COMPANY Can inspect the damage before the CONTRACTOR handles the material in any manner. 4.112 CONTRACTOR'S requests for withdrawal of COMPANYfurnished material and equipment shall be based on quantities shown on drawings or lists of materials furnished by COMPANY. oust? m CHEVRON U.S.A. EP-548-S May 15, 1984 (JCH) Page 4 of 7 CONTRACTORLshall obtain approval from COMPANY'S Representative,^ writing, before materials in excess of the quantities shownron the drawings or lists of materials will be issued. 4.113 CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for keeping all materials and equipment in g<5 condition until the completed facility is accepted by COMPANY. 4.114 CONTRACTORShall De held accountable for shortages or damages to equipment and materials furnished by COMPANY, after receipt of such equipment or material. 4.115 CONTRACTOR shall promptly check bills of material or drawings for any Errors which would result in shortages and shall, notify COMPANYJn writing if there are any such errors or if the equipment and materials listed are insufficient to meet his anticipated needs. Delays caused by CONTRACTOR'S failure to discover and promptly report such errors or that the equipment and materials lisraf are insufficient to meet his anticipated needs shall not necessarily constitute a basis for extension of time of completion under Section 3.2 or a basis for reimbursement under Section 3.3 of the Terms and Conditions. 4.116 Upon completion df the job, CONTRACTOR shall furnish COMPANY an inventory of all remaining equipment and materials which were furnished by COMPANY including the quantity, description, and the item number of each item. When directed by COMPANY, CONTRACTOR shall transport the remaining equipment and materials to the El Paso storehouse or such locations on Srfe as designated by COMPANY. 5.0 DETAILS OF CONSTRUCTION ~ This section amplifies the construction Retails for portions of CONTRACTOR'S work. 5.1 General Construction drawings indicate the locations of principal equipment and general plant arrangement. EP-548-S May 15, 1984 (3CH) Page 5 of 7 5.2 Earthwork __ Earthwork and backfill shall be in accordance with applicable paragraphs of Specification EG-581, "Clearing, Grading & Earthwork". 5.3 Fence SE. Included in Section 7.0 is Specification No. EG-1952 "Chain Link Fencing". The fence will be jacked up and the foundations compacted into place such that the fence has a continuous slope. Elevations will be determined by CONTRACTORand approvedlay COMPANY Representative. 5.4 Pipeway Supports -- Fifteen (15) pipeway support foundations are to be jacked up (see construction drawings). Elevations will be determined by CONTRACTOR and approved by the COMPANY Representative^ The pipe supports will give the line a continuous slope consistant with the rest of the line. 5.5 Erosion Control Textile i?? 7 CONTRACTOR will install DuPont Typar Filter Fabric or COMPANY approved equivalent in accordance with the construction drawings in Section 7.0. 5.6 Concrete Work 5.61 Methods =1 Placing and curing concrete shall be in accordance with Specification EG-850, "Placing and Curing Concrete". 5.62 Properties Concrete shall be in accordance with Specification EG-851, "Concrete Proportioning and Mixing".-- 5.63 Rebar Rebar shall be fabricated iff;accordance with Specification EG-516-D, "Reinforcing Steel Fabrication". 5.7 Excavations LL Any required excavations'will comply with E&M Instruction No. 2045 "Trench or Ditch Excavations". EP-548-S May 15, 1984 (JCH) Page 6 of 7 7.0 DRAWINGS, SPECIFICATIONS ANDJNSTRUCTIONS 7.1 General 7.11 The specifications indicate qualities of materials and methods of workmanship, and the drawings indicate dimensions, quantities, positions and details of construction. 7.12 COMPANY will providers CONTRACTOR one reproducible copy of all pertinent standard drawings, standard specifications, construction drawings, and instructions. 7.13 Upon completion of the:Facility, CONTRACTOR shall make a copy of each drawing to indicate any changes or deviations made in the actual installation.
