SUPPLEMENTAL RESPONSE N0_, 2 :
In addition to its previous response, OCF states that
it was not in the business of selling raw asbestos.
However, in 1970, OCF purchased from Unarco Industries the
Chembest Division manufacturing plant located in
Bloomington, Illinois. The plant manufactured urethane
products and an asbestos-containing industrial insulation,
Unarcoboard (Fyrcor). In 1972, OCF ceased the manufacture
of its asbestos-containing Fyrcor product and sold the
surplus raw asbestos, approximately 462.5 tons, which had
been originally purchased by Unarco Industries.
OCF states that it sold asbestos-containing cement
products, SC-30 (OC-110) and SC-40 (OC-660), which were
mai ufactured by Eagle-Picher and rebranded for OCF. The
asbestos content in SC-30 cements varied from 3.5 to 9%
chrysotile; the asbestos content in SC-40 varied from 3-5%
chrysotile. See also Exhibit 6.
OCF further states that it has no compilation of the
information regarding the asbestos content of the Fiberglas
-8-
Insulating and Finishing Cements manufactured and sold by
OCF during the period 1940-1951.
INTERROGATORY NO. 3 :
With regard to each type of asbestos identified in the preceding answer state:
(a) Where it was purchased, if it was not purchased, where it was obtained;
(b) From whom it was purchased or obtained;
(c) The manner in which it was received, stored and used in the production of the product.
SUPPLEMENTAL RESPONSE NO. 3 :
In addition to its previous response, OCF states that
presently available records for the years 1964-1972 indicate
that OCF purchased 20,072 tons of asbestos during that time
period for use in manufacturing insulation. OCF purchased
raw asbestos from the following companies:
Lake Asbestos of Quebec 120 Broadway New York, NY 10005 (Sales Office)
approximately 2,095 tons of Chrysotile - Grades 4T-4, 7D3, and 6D-3

ASBESTOS-CONTAINING PRODUCTS MANUFACTURED BY U.S.! GYPSUM
The dates listed here are taken from product operating bulletins which governed the
'
manufacturing process. The cancellation of these operating bulletins usually coincided with
cessation of production, but occasionally bulletins would remain uncancelled after the
manufacture of a product had been discontinued. Consequently, the years shown for cancellation
of authorization are believed to be the last possible year of manufacture, although manufacture
may have in fact ended earlier. Production dates established through documentation other than
product operating bulletins have been footnoted.,, Temporary and trial production runs are
included (along with regular production). These have been footnoted for Firecode and can be
determined for other'products from a review of operating bulletins.. Such runs ocasionally were
given slight name variations for textures.

N O T E ;-
Not all products were necessarily made at all plants at all times listed, even though they were authorized for production.
*
At some period of time between 1926 and 1930, Sabinite is believed to have
been manufactured at U.S. Gypsum's plant at Arden, Nevada. However, no
bulletins for that plant have been located, it having been closed in 1930.
Sabinite may have been produced until this date, but sales diminished substantially by the mid-1950's.

U.S. Gypsum believes that K-Fac 19 was produced solely for A.P. Green and packaged by that company as Insblok from 1970 to 1972. In 1972-1973 U.S. Gypsum itself distributed K-Fac 19.

Marketed as Red top Acoustical Plaster with the word 'Spray' stenciled on the

U.S. Gypsum manufactured SprayDon pursuant to the specifications of Sprayon
Research Corporation. While Types A and G remained on operating bulletins
until 1973, production of G was discontinued in 1970, and A was discontinued
on January 1, 1972. Type I, though authorized, was never produced.

Manufacture of these products ceased in 1939, though they remained authorized
until 1940.

This product line was manufactured by a company that became a U.S. Gypsum subsidiary in 1971, and records of the production history are incomplete.
Host of the products identified in this exhibit have a shelf life of approximately six months, with some variation due to humidity and storage conditions. -It is the policy of the defendant to provide this information to all customers. Therefore, date of last production approximates date of last sale, though U.S. Gypsum is not certain whether shelf life guidelines were adhered to by its customers. Reasonable investigation is continuing.
Further information concerning products which are established to be at issue is contained in documents which will be made available for inspection at the offices of United States Gypsum, 101 South Wacker Drive, Chicago 60606.
