King City Project
In accordance with our telephone conversation on June 25, 1973, I am submitting a list of projects involving King City. The priority ratings are those we listed over the telephone and I have taken the liberty of including some additional information.
A. NEW PROJECTS
1. Dryer Feed Control
A design memo, with cost estimate, should be issued by July 13, 1973- We have "guesstimated" $75,000 for this but have not completed layout studies 1 i ; to confirm our assumptions.
2. Change House
A request for quotation should be issued this Friday and we would expect to be able to make an award by July 27, 1973.
3. RG2M Expansion
We are planning to handle this by the Scope Procedure because of the money and complexity involved. Design Memo No. 1, describing the project, making memo assignments and setting a schedule could be issued by July 27, 1973 if you give this job priority over any other new projects.
k. Fuel Oil Tests
tt will not be possible to run this test before mid-August unless we can shift manpower from some other project. We will have a better grasp of our manpower requirements in a week or so.
5. Manufacture of DM8P
It is my understanding that we are not to do anything on this project until more information becomes available.

6. Shrink-Wrap
We will not plar. any activity in this in the near future other than monitoring the "Jungle Room" tests.
7. Tuck-In Sleeves
You have asked us by letter to look at the problem of modifying the air flow packer to be compatible with tuck-in sleeve bags in the third quarter
of this year, but you indicated on the telephone that there may be some complications involving marketing. Due to the press of the other projects, we could not realistically do anything until the end of the quarter unless the solution was very simple. I will not plan on any activity on this until we get more information or a decision to proceed from you. At that time, we will re-evaluate our manning and provide you with a schedule.
B. EXISTING PROJECTS
1. Dust Col 1ector
Specifications have been issued for a new fan, and we are in the process of getting quotes on adding a 400 amp feeder to the plant. We would expect to complete the project and be in compliance by January 1, 1974.
2. Palletizer
The last element, the palletizer should be installed during the week of July 9, and we will be involved in the start-up of the new palletizer line. The equipment has been pretested, and problems should be minimal.
3. Pellet Cooler
Installation has been delayed until we get a discharge permit for the cooling water. It appears favorable, at this time, to have the permit include ocher cooling water streams to take some pressure off the effluent pond. We will pursue this matter with Bob Beverly although Larry will probably have to handle the paper work on getting the permit. Some additional engineering will be required to handle the discharge piping. I have been told that a minimum of three months will be required to get a permit, so we do not anticipate completion before October 1973-
4. Propane Tank Foundations
Drawings for the foundations for the new propane tank have been issued and installation will be handled by the plant. We do not plan any more activity on this project.

The list does not include some other work involving King City,''namely, trying to get a better handle or filtration capacity, and we plan some low key activity in this area, in addition, a process review of the plant to determine the capacities of the various circuits appears to be in order. This review would provide a basis for expansion studies. Nothing definite has been scheduled along this line and will depend on manpower availability and on priority changes.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
