EPA ED_001523B_00001932-00001 Dear Wanda and Earl, Hi, friends! Hope y'all are great. Greetings from Beijing, where the Secretary arrives in a couple of days! I sure wish I could be with him when he comes down to Cochran late next week. We were in Toombs and Tattnall Counties last week with the Canadian and Mexican ministers of agriculture, and I took some of my team on down to Fitzgerald where my mother cooked a big spread. Sure was good to be home. I wanted to introduce you both, and by extension the EPA team copied on this email, to Mr. Nick Westcott. Nick will be the Secretary's advance lead for the trip. My understanding is this is a largely EPA-focused trip, which is terrific, but that there are some USDA equities, particularly on the forestry side. So I think the Secretary's role will largely be observational and conversational. Nick is with me in China at the moment, but you and our EPA colleagues can fill him in via email. We just want to be as helpful as we can without getting in the way. That said, I am sure that if you are inviting press, Macon and Albany will be much more responsive with SP there, only because of the local, home angle. Let Nick know how we can weave in our team in a seamless, cooperative fashion to make this work for y'all and the objectives you have. I'm taking a rain check on a Wanda Barrs hug!
