McDearman SuBjECTlnspection and Servicing of Air Mask Filters TEL Area Address Date Sept. 30, 1975 During October, all air mask filters in the TEL Area vere inspected and serviced due to the possibility that some had been neglected in the past and maintenance records vere. Incomplete. In an effort to better facilitate this routine maintenance the inspection department agreed to assign all air mast filters a number as if they vere Bafety discs. This number, along vlth description, location, and servicing frequency, was entered into the computer file for safety disc inspections. The computer vill print the filters on the "due for inspection" list vhen they are due. The extra vork foreman in our area takes pipefitters and inspects and services the filters. Vhen inspection receives an Inspection report from the foreman, the data is placed into the computer to update the file. If the filter fails to get serviced, it vill be printed on the "overdue for inspection" list. These inspection lists are printed monthly and it enables us to maintain the service on schedule. All air mask filters in the TEL Area are on the list. At Fred Hamilton's request I had the filters at tank car cleanout, hopper shop, tank car repair, velding booth at central Bhops, and sandblast at central shops added to this list.
