Suffocating energy producers with burdensome regulations and swamping states with federal mandates was not the answer to a cleaner energy future. Now is the time to focus on technology and innovation as the best approach for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and mitigating the impacts of climate change. American businesses have led and will continue to lead the world in technological advances and towards a future that recognizes the balance between affordable energy, a cleaner environment and a prosperous economy. For more on innovation and CPP, please see my op-ed in USA Today. Sincerely, Karen A. Harbert President and CEO Global Energy Institute SlareWis/emat 17cv01906 Sierra Club v.
