This represents, along with the artioles by Sander and Sneer, about all that we have on the subject. I did notice on the same page of the Industrial Hygiene Digest a rather interesting note on an article by R. . Harding from the British Journal of Industrial Medicine for January 1945 which dealt with some experimental work on rats. This consisted of intra tracheal injections of rouge (ferric oxide). This substance produced rather ctypioal stippling or fine nodulation of the lungs with no deteotable fibrosis as a result of the presence of Iron oxioe for some eight months. This would tend to support the evidence we already have that iron oxide may produce the results noted without actual fibrosis.
