Executive Director Texas Air Control Board 8520 Shoal Creek Boulevard Austin, Texas 78758 Dear Mr. Stewart: The Celanese Chemical Company, Inc., at Bishop Texas, plans to demolish a building containing piping covered with friable asbestos insulation. There is about 860 linear feet of piping ranging in size from 2-inch to 6-inch dia meter. All of the pipe is covered with the insulation. This pipe demolition will begin about August 27, 1979. The insulation will be removed as the first step, and landfilled in the designated asbestos landfill located on the Plant Site. All the precautions in 40 CFR 61.20-61.25 will be observed. This letter will serve as notification of this work as required by 40 CFR 61.22 (d) (2). The attached data sheet lists all of the pertinent data.
