They are of a simple, effective design that results in trustworthy operation with little attention. They are easy to keep free of soot, scale and other impurities-- thus they are easy to keep efficient. These boilers are the practical, proven firebox type for installation with oil burner, gas burner, coal stoker or hand-fired coal grate. Even after installation, adaptation from one fuel to the other is relatively fast and inexpensive. The Kewanee Square-Heat will easily operate at 80% efficiency when fired at a rate to produce 150% of its SBI net rating. This means your Square-Heat will carry peak loads without wear or strain and with real fuel-saving economy. This reputation means service, too--with a network of Kewanee representatives reaching into every state . . . putting a qualified Kewanee Man within 'phoning distance of every Kewanee owner. 12 sizes--producing 15 lb steam or 30 lb water at SBI net ratings from 216,000 to 1,200,000 Btuh steam; 243,000 to 1,350,000 Btuh water. 28497 SQUARE-HEAT TYPE "R" Kewanee, GAS- FI R E D PACKAGED UNIT Fora self-contained, completely automatic heating unit, Kewanee combines a Square-Heat Type "R" Boiler with a Kewanee atmospheric type drilled-port gas burner. The burner is factory assembled in the boiler base and covers the firebox floor. It can be ordered for natural, mixed, manufactured or L.P. gas. Firing rate is balanced with the capacity of the boiler. Operation is automatic, efficient, silent. Thermocouple control of main gas valve is furnished as standard equipment. Electronic controls for safety shut-off in event of pilot failure is optional. The entire combustion chamber may be inspected easily through a hinged cast iron access door, machine-ground to a close fit and lined with high temperature refractory. Firing is smooth, safe, non-pulsating. Electronic controls are furnished as standard equipment on the 3R4-0 through 3R12-0 units and are available as optional equipment on the smaller sizes. Combination mounting plate and adjustable secondary air shutter holds burner firmly in place .. . provides access to combustion chamber. The floor of the combustion chamber is of pre-cast insulating-type refractory, installed at the factory. Boiler and skid base are welded into one rigid unit.
