We feel that it is just a matter of tine until similar safety regulations will require the elimination of asbestos from these products in Canada. We . would suggest that the following programs be initiated by these plants as outlined in your letter- HILLSBOROUGH: ' A. Regular HARDVEffX plaster - 1. Hillsborough jnake .trial charges of the Montreal and Hagersville formulations after consultation with Research on any additives that may be required. Trial charges to be panel--tested at the plant. - 2. The formula judged to be the better of the two to be field tested. 3. Hillsborough to initiate appropriate bulletin revisions. MONTREAL: A. ORIENTAL Exterior Stucco - 1. Montreal to make trial . charge of the best U. S. formulation after consultation with Research on any additives that may be required, 2. Trial charge to be panel- and field tested. - 3. Montreal to initiate appropriate bulletin revisions. HAGERSVILLE: A. BCNPCRETE Plaster - 1. Hagersville to reformulate without asbestos after consultation with Research on any additives that nay be required. 2. Trial charge to be panel-tested on concrete block or plant concrete walls, then field tested. 3. Hagersville to initiate appropriate bulletin revisions. * ` B AUDICOTE Plaster - 1.
