k,April 1955 Sr. Vta. P. Little 450 Angler Avenue, H.E. Atlanta, Georgia Dear Mr* Littles Your letter of March 25th addressed to the lSfchyl Gasoline Corporation concerning the loss of sensation in the fingers of your right hand, has been referred to me for reply* X consider it extremely unlikely that the condition which you mention has any relation to your use of Ethyl Gasoline, but X should be glad if you would write me giving the details of the onset and course of your difficulty. If you have had any symptoms of illness of any kind, it would be of considerable assistance in forming an opinion as to what might b e responsible for the difficulty. I have no doubt you are aware that long range diagnoses are of dubious value so that if you are actually suffering from any significant Illness, X should advise you to see a competent physician for a complete physical examination. In fact if the circumstances Justify It, I should be quite willing to make arrangements for one of m y associates to see you on his next visit to your vicinity* However, I should not feel that a special trip for the purpose would be justified unless you provide me with additional details* For your information X should like to point out to you that despite the advice and warning of the Ethyl Gasoline Corporation that such gasoline should not be used in cigar lighters,, in stoves, lamps:* ? or in fact in any other way than as a motor fuel, I a m fully aware that the fuel has been used by many people for a variety of such purposes. Hot**with-sbanding the mis-tkse of what is intended solely for an automobile fuel, there have been no authentic cases of lead poisoning as a con sequence of the use and distribution of this gasoline. Moreover, all of the experimental and clinical evidence of many years of study indicate that lead is not absorbed through the skin as a result of contact with this type of gasoline. It is. for thesis reasons that I stated In the g g 001? 377 vam # 11 Mr* Wa* F* Little outset of my letter that I considered lb quite improbable that your symptoms had any relation to your contact with Ethyl Gasoline* However, I trust you will not let this opinion deter you from writing to me further* Very truly yours, RAKiia Robert A* Kehoe, M*D* 0011678
