This year we have continued our mission to support the Western Caucuses and provide a cultural exchange for other areas of the country that may be unaware of what it's like to live and work in the West. WCF hosted multiple engagements with members and staff of the Western Caucuses in the House and Senate. Winter Western Policy Roundtable The Foundation had a tremendously successful final trip of the year to Nevada for our Winter Western Policy Roundtable and Public Lands Forum. More than 100 stakeholders, eight members of congress, two dozen Congressional staffers as well as agency officials from the EPA, Department of Interior and the Forest Service participated in this event. In addition to three robust policy roundtables, attendees joined in an autonomous vehicle and technology demonstration as well as a behind the scenes tours of the National Finals Rodeo and the Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument. i i Senate Western Caucus Chair Steve Daines with Caucus members Barrasso, Heller, and Risch (and wife Vickie) with guests David Spady and Dave Duquette at our Winter Western Policy Roundtable reception. 2017 Western Caucus Success Recap The Senate and Congressional Western Caucus saw huge successes this past year with both legislative and regulatory reforms and roll backs of federal government overreach from the past few years. Click here for the 2017 Year in Review report prepared by the Congressional (House) Western Caucus that highlight's their accomplishments. 2018 Foundation Agenda The WCF will kick off 2018 with our Taste of the West reception prior to the State of the Union on January 30th. We will also have a number of field trips, policy forums, and celebrations for the Western Caucus' 25th anniversary, including field events in Arizona in March (during MLB Spring Training), Montana in August, and our annual Winter Western Roundtable in conjunction with the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, NV.
