In creasing governmental concern over occupa tional safety and health has led to iirst steps ' in regulating industrial hygiene standards. IHF, through its membership of approx imately 400 companies and associations, is devoteS to the protection and improvement of the health of the nation's workforce i through application of the coordinated scien tific measures, technological and engineering controls which characterize sound industrial hygiene management, which involves the contributions of numerous individuals from the many and varied disciplines of environ mental a'nd occupational health.
Based on Lbc combined efforts of thousands o! occupational physicians, nurses and in dustrial hygienists/the workers in modem industry in the United States benefits from the same types of life supoort technology as are applied in protecting the life and health of our astronauts.
