Dear Mr. Trigg: I am informed that the National Federation of Construction Industries has authorized the appointment of a committee to cooperate with the Senate Special Committee on Reconstruction and Production. Will you be kind enough to draw the enclosed resolution and explanatory remarks to the attention of the national and local associations connected vd th the construction industry. It would be helpful to the Committee to have on file the names of the presidents and committee chairmen of these associations and to receive from them information as to the shortage of housing and industrial construction, whether or not the shortage is increasing or decreasing, the effect of the shortage on industry and public welfare, and remedial measures which have been taken affecting the various localities or industries, together with the views of the different associations as to the merits of such measures. It is possible that some of th associations may wish to express their views as to the necessity of Federal action in the present emergency.
