Grumbles August 28, 1991 GROUNDWATER RECOVERY SYSTEM FOR LCCC VIS1A A meeting was held on August 26 to review the impact of Vista's Vision project on the capacity to treat recovered groundwater and to review the status and cost-sharing issues of the permanent remediation system design work. The meeting was attended by Gary Wojnowski and Jay Christopher of Conoco. Veldon Messik, Tom Grumbles, and Randy King attended for Vista. Below is a summary of the discussion. Groundwater Treatment Capacity Restrictions This discussion was held to assure Conoco understood the scope and design parameters for Vision and how that impacted the treatment capacity. The design basis will only allow for 24 gpra of recovered groundwater. The reasons for this were discussed in detail. Although actual operation of the Vision project may result in additional capacity for the groundwater, it is understood that if the recovered groundwater volume increases, alternate or separate treatment methods or equipment may be needed. This could result in capital expenditures for both companies. Recovery System Design Conoco and Vista agreed that Conoco would do the process design and be reimbursed for their services (see attachment). Vista is proceeding to do the mechanical design. It was agreed that Vista would account for the time to do this design in a similar manner and we would wait until the design completion to determine the split on costs. If our time exceeds Conoco's^reimbursement: will be made to Vista. ^ Some specifics of the mechanical design were also reviewed. There is a specific question on the insulation specified by Conoco. Gary Wojnowski agreed to look into this and later confirmed that foam glass was the preferred Insulation.
