A A/C Pipe Producers Association Public Affairs Committee J. F. Welch, Director, Public Affairs FROM SUBJECT State of New Jersey ACTION REQUIRED: Review for information Internal Correspondence October 22, 1981 DATE Enclosed is a news article from the October 8,1981 issue of The New York Times. It describes the formation of the New Jersey Water Supply Authority and a proposed $350 million bond issue for water supply projects and improvements in the State over the next six years. The likelihood of the bond issue passing the November 3 ballot is not known. By copy of this correspondence, Staff requests that special counsel obtain a copy of the master plan. Due to the extensive problems experienced in the Ocean County area and the Department of Environmental Protection study of asbestos in drinking water, Staff is interested in the scope of the $500,000 water treatment studies referenced in the article. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call. JFW/ajb Enclosure cc: A. Kahn, Esq. N. Rahn, Esq. M. Greenberg, Esq. copies to: Public Affairs Committee International Affairs Committee H.
