The meeting opened with brief reports of the previous day's meetings of the Molded and Mineral Fiber Sections.
Two items concerning improved operation of the T&H Committees were dis
cussed. One was the problem of accomplishing jobs to be done in meetings at 6-month intervals. It was agreed that intermediate meetings be held as required. The other was to strengthen liaison with Government agencies through the Government T&R Committee. This would require mure frequent
meetings of this cosmittee with J. M. Barnhart sad representatives of the mein committee.
Round Robin Thermal Conductivity Testing
This sub-committee was reactivated under W. Gubar as chairman with rep resentatives from OC, PPG and J-M. The Sub-committee will review accom plishments to date and make recommendations to the T&R Consittee for future action.
ASTM Proposed Specification - Stress Corrosion Effect of Thermal Insula
tions on Stainless Steel
J. M. Barnhart as chairman of ASIM C-l6 T-VTU task group had received s number of negative ballots relativa to this proposed specification. After suue review it was agreed that J. D. McAllister would undertake, with the assistance of other T-VIU members, to propose resolutions for the negatives at the Jhne 27 meeting of T-VTU.

Review of these specifications was deferred with comments to be sent to J. X. Barnhart by August 15.
Fire Testing of Thermal Insulations
The members of the Molded Section were advised of the Minerul Fiber Sec tion's agreement that the UL label system be revised to a system based on group cl.isslfleetians. One tueh class would group products with max imum fliiac spread of 25 and smoke developed of 50.
For the information of those present from the Molded Section, J. 3. Ter re viewed potential industry problem connectd with establishing pipe in sulation systems at UL, as covered in the June 24 meeting of the Fiber Section.
Other Business A. Kevlln questioned the maximum binder limit in MEL-I-2818A, recommend ing deletion of the requirement with committee review of the speciftcati and upgrading of the combustibility requirements.
&Q*'I-742(c) was also questioned as to the application of combustibility requirements to specific type products, with e recceoendatian for clari fication.
