Dear Dr. Se)ikoff:
Thank you for your letter of November 21, 1972.
Enclosed is some information about our "Calidria" pellets along with twenty copies of the reprint you requested (we have a good supply of these if you need more).
Since our products are all very short fiber, our pellets compete with Canadian asbestos in a limited number of areas, principally floor tile. We have had little opportunity to obtain dust counts in a direct production comparison, but we have generally found that airborne fibers are well within OSHA standards when pellets are used. Our pellets can be shipped in bulk hopper cars and handled by conventional closed conveying systems which would totally eliminate airborne dust. We have two customers actively preparing-for bulk shipments.
We offer a dust-counting service to all of our major customers at no charge, and we have been pleasantly surprised by the low results, even when open fiber asbestos is in use. At the present time we have no products being used in such common asbestos applications as cement/asbestos products, textiles, insulation, and friction materials.
A small kit of representative samples of our pelletized products is being sent to
you under separate cover. Please let me know if you would like additional information.
I am in New York City frequently and have an office in our building at 270 Park Avenue-
perhaps we could meet for further discussion at some time after the first of the year
when convenient to you.
3est wishes for the Holiday Season'.
Very truly yours
