As outlined in the requests, this equipment provides multiple benefits to air quality and the environment and is far superior to current alternatives, but has encountered issues with regard to appropriate classification and permitting. The requests were made in 2020 to both the Office of Air and Radiation and the Office of Land and Emergency Management regarding approaches that could potentially resolve uncertainty in the classification of this equipment. We recognize that this is currently an extremely busy period for EPA, but would welcome the opportunity to discuss matters contained within the requests with the appropriate officials and staff at your earliest convenience.
