About the Champion of Service Recipient: Since his retirement, Sam Rogers has contributed countless hours to several deserving projects and causes throughout Tallahassee. In 1999, Sam was instrumental in establishing a partnership between his church, Trinity United Methodist Church, and Kate Sullivan Elementary School, encouraging the congregation to serve as mentors to students. For the last 19 years, Sam has mentored two firstgrade students every year.
