Pullman, an Organic Division Sales Representative In the New York Sales Office, called about a problem at Hamilton Standard's Plant In Windsor Locks, Connecticut. He asked that we contact Dr. Lawrence Coleman, M. D., the plant physician, and Mr. Bill Sutcliffe of the plant technical staff. Mr. Pullman reported that Hamilton Stadard had a permanent liver damage case from Thermlnol FR-2 vapor exposure. Dr. Kelly contacted Dr. Coleman and was told that the man alleged to have liver damage did not in fact have such damage. His liver function test showed some elevation the day he worked on an FR-2 system leak. The following day he was normal and has been since. I called Mr. Sutcliffe and Informed him what his physician told Dr. Kelly. Sutcliffe was thankful since he had also heard that one of his maintenance employees was suffering permanent liver damage from FR-2 exposure. He asked me for an analytical method. I told him that the only good method required chromatographic analysis. He asked me what other users were doing. I told him briefly what our experience had been with these materials.
