The original Bay Supply quo tation was based on Johns-Manville 961 material but was cor rected to Garlock by Mr. Chuck Elbert during the week of No vember 8, 1985. As a result Bay Supply Company/Lamons Metal Gasket Company were chosen as the prime supplier of the fol lowing categories of gasket material based on price: 1. Non-lethal service sheet gasket material Garlock 3200 Garlock 3400 (alternate) 2. Lethal Service sheet gasket material Union Carbide GHE (no substitutes) 3. Lethal Service Spiral Wound Gaskets 1/8" 316 Stainless Steel with Graphoil filler material (no substitutes) 4. Lethal Service cut ring gaskets 1/8" Union Carbide GHE (no substitutes) Bay Supply Company was chosen as the back-up supplier for the category of non-lethal service cut ring gaskets in 1/8" Garlock 3200 or 1/8" Garlock 3400 and non-lethal service spiral wound gaskets in 1/8" 316 stainless steel with Lamons Micarb filler material. I am pleased to announce Marine and Petroleum was chosen as the prime supplier of the following categories of gasket material: 1. Non-lethal service cut ring gaskets 1/8" Garlock 3200 1/8" Garlock 3400 (alternate) 2. Non-lethal service spiral wound gaskets in 1/8" 316 stainless steel with Flexitallic Flexite Super filler material. Marine and Petroleum was chosen as the back-up supplier for the following categories: 1. Non-lethal service sheet gasket material Garlock 3200 Garlock 3400 (alternate) 2. Lethal Service sheet gasket material Union Carbide GHE (no substitutes) 3. Lethal Service cut ring gaskets 1/8" Union Carbide GHE (no substitutes) 4. Lethal Service Spiral Wound Gaskets 1/8" 316 Stainless Steel with Graphoil filler material (no substitutes) Effective October 29, 1985, no asbestos pipe gaskets or asbestos sheet gasket material is to be purchased or ac cepted at the Monsanto-Chocolate Bayou facilities. The asbestos pipe gaskets and asbestos sheet gasket material currently in stock at Chocolate Bayou will be reduced by unit ol Montnto Company 4 C 000507 LAM022418 Mr. Wes Eddelman 2 November 11, 1985 attrition until December 31, 1985. At that time any remaining asbestos gasket material will be withdrawn from the stocking program and vendor restocking negotiations will be conducted at that time. This should minimize the restocking burden for Marine and Petroleum and minimize the restocking fee for Monsanto.
