ZONOLITE CONSTRUCTION PRODUCTS DIVISION INTER-OFFICE CORRESPONDENCE to: R. E. Schneider from: C. H. Wendel cc: H. A. Brown /W. V. Culver R. M. *Vining P. J. Walsh, Jr. B. R. Williams DATE: August 29, 1972* subject: Northwest Plant 36o3112 I tried to reach you this morning to find out what the situation was on the proposed Northwest plant. I have just returned from a trip up there and am greatly concerned that we may end up without any operation in the Northwest unless we get moving. The Portland plant could be shut down any minute. It is in bad condition, very dusty; and all we would need would be a disgruntled employee to set the thing going. (You know they are trying to organize the plant at the present time.) To the best of my knowledge, no decision has been made on a new plant site and I want to put a fire under someone to get this done as soon as possible. We are in deep trouble.
