J . C . Malone Statement on lead In exhaust
New York September 12, 1957
In November 195^ the statement quoted here m s made available to the Public Relations department. It was to serve a standby purpose regarding queries on lead in exhaust fumes, in the event of your ever being out of reach temporarily--
"Hie factor of lead in exhaust fumes has been under study for a considerable period, and the most recent and most com plete data is la the process of being turn ed over to the Southern California Air Pol lution Foundation and interested committees in the API. For all practical purposes, it can be stated that there is no danger to public health due to exposure to lead in automotive exhaust fumes. She factor of safety is more than ten to one."
Apart from changing the words "in the pro cess" and leaving out "Southern California," need the statement be up-dated?
She understanding here remains that queries from the press, customers or others, on lead in ex haust, b referred to you wheney^r possible.
