Raetzsch,Works Managei November 16, 1967 TO: All Supervisors in Operations "Our all-accident rate for the last three months is higher than it has been during the same period of time in several years, and the November rate is still climb ing. As you know, safety statistics show that when the minor accident frequency is high, there is more chance of a serious accident, so it is imperative that this upward trend be reversed. To stimulate thought in accident prevention and provide an exchange of ideas, it was decided in the last Executive Safety Committee meeting that one super visor would be invited each month to present a 15 minute briefing to the commit tee on what he is doing to improve safety in his area. The Executive Safety Committee normally meets on the second Tuesday of each month and one super visor will be asked to attend on the morning of the meeting. Your attention to the basic points of safety, such as giving job safety instruc tions before each job assignment and taking corrective action on hazards, can make the difference.
