MORGAN Since the appearance of the NEW YORKER article on asbestos, copy of which I sent to you, I have had several telephone calls from people in Plastics Department and Textile Fibers. They are interested in two things: (l) interpretation of the results of recent in vestigations into the effects of inhaling asbestos fiber and (2) advice on air sampling in Company plants where asbestos products are used and determinations of dust concentrations. It seems to me that the subject merits a full scale effort on our part to bring together those who are interested and concerned with this problem for a day-long conference in which the subject could be thoroughly reviewed. Besides helping the people who have already made inquiries, it would conserve our time by anticipation of the needs of others and inviting them to participate in the single session.
