Type and Purpose of Inspection Unannounced Evaluation of compliance with the Multi - Sector General Permit for Industrial Stormwater. IV. Facility Description The facility is an auto parts store and small (1-2 acre) auto salvage yard. V. Inspection Mr. Spejewski arrived at the site unannounced at about 12:30 PM. Entering the store, he asked for the manager, and after a short wait, met Dan LeVeille, who introduced himself as the owner. A. Opening Conference Mr. Spejewski presented his credentials, provided a copy of the Small Business Resources Information Sheet, and explained the purpose of the inspection. Mr. LeVeille said that he was not completely familiar with the EPA stormwater permit, but that an environmental consultant had told him that the site was not subject, because there was no runoff from the site, as it had a berm around the auto storage. B. Facility Tour The two then left to tour the site. The front of the building is a parking lot which drains down to the main street. The rear of the building is used / junked automobile storage. A driveway led from the parking lot to the storage area. Mr. LeVeille pointed out an asphalt berm across the driveway to keep stormwater on site, and a pump against the building near the driveway that he said pumped water from this area to the center of the site. A several foot - high earth berm was in place from the driveway, completely around the auto storage area, and back to the building on the other side. There were no signs of flow over or through the berm. C. Records Review No records were reviewed. D.
