Yuba Plants and Sales Offices Nationwide ADSCO CORRUFLEX PACKLESS EXPANSION JOINTS Equalizing, Welding Ends Adsco's Comdex packless expansion joints absorb pipe expansion and are adaptable to any piping condition. The equalizing joint is used for various types or motions and is suitable for pressures to 300 psi and higher. They are available in sizes 3 in. and larger, with single or multi ple corrugations, with flanged as well as welding ends. They can be supplied with covers and telescoping inner sleeves. Non-Equalizing, Flanged Ends This type is generally used to absorb small amounts of expansion and to isolate vibration under vacuum or pressures to 50 psi. Depending on the metal used in the ex pansion element, both the equalizing and non-equalizing types are suitable for tem peratures from sub zero to 1600 F. Adsco also manufactures a dose-pitch type and a semi-equiiizing type with root-rings to re inforce the corrugations. ADSCO RAM-PAK EXPANSION JOINTS Externally Guided To insure true axial movement, machined guide surfaces of equalizing rings ride smoothly along bore of external guide. To tally stabilized corrugated element permits high pressure applications. Guide is of heavy-wall, carbon steel construction for ef fective guiding and rigidity. Guide acts as limit stop to prevent joint from being ex tended beyond predetermined limit. Guide also acts as an external cover and insolation base. ADSCO PIPE ALIGNMENT GUIDE "PC" Joint, Flanged Ends Slip-type expansion joints, designed for axial motion, offer long traverse, low initial cost, and produce minimum stresses on pipe anchors. The piston-ring joint. Type "PG," can be unpacked and repacked under full line pressure because of its piston-ring fea ture. The polished, chrome-plated slip can not be scored by metal-to-metal contact Packing can be quickly lubricated. Sizes of Adsco slip-type joints range from 1% in. up, with traverse per slip from 4 in. to 12 in. For working pressures to 400 lb, temperatures to 800 F. Ram-Pak The newly-designed Adsco Ram-Pak Ex pansion Joint has a ram opening through which packing can be added when neces sary. Lubrication is accomplished through fittings. Five features result from new de sign: (1) complete and uniform lubrica tion of packing: (2) new packing can be added under full-line pressure; (3) pack ing can be replaced without removing ex pansion joint from line; (4) rugged out ward limit stop is provided by internal guide and stop ring; in addition there is an external guide; (5) support base con forms in all respects to ASA standards. ADSCO STANDARD HEATERS Pipe Alignment Guide Proper guiding of a pipe line, as obtained by Adsco pipe alignment guides, is essentia] to insure straight axial movement of the pipe to the expansion joint. Misalignment may damage equipment. A pipe line should be considered as a load-bearing column and pipe alignment guides should be used ac cordingly to prevent bowing and bending. Storage Water Heaters Adsco storage heaters are built in accord ance with the ASME code for working pres sures desired. Tanka are made of flangequality steel, nickel-clad or Mainless-clad steel, or copper silicon alloy. Where alloy tanks are used, tube sheets are of corrosionresisting metal, so that service water docs not come in contact with any ferrous parts. Steel tanks can be lined with all standard linings, including Adsco Phenolic 6-2 or Adscotc bitnmastic. Instantaneous Heaters Oil Pre-heaters Adsco instantaneous heaters are made in * a large variety of types, including the simple U-bend instantaneous shown above, which is used'to heat water for showers, dishwash ers, laundries, and other purposes. These heaters are also used as converters for fur nishing hot water to space heating systems. Many straight-tube, float-head units are used as dosed feed-water heaters, boiler blow down beaters, and for various uses in the process industries. Adsco oil pre-heaters help obtain highly efficient performance from fuel oil by heat ing it properly for complete combustion in the burner. In many cases, the work done by oil pre-heaters permits tne use of heavier grade, less costly fuel oiL These heaters fre quently are used with Adsco tank suction beaters, the two units making an efficient team.
