Wastewater Treatment Plant Performance The data available to date from the contract laboratory show the outfall waters in compliance. Steam coils have been put in operation to maintain proper water temperatures in the secondary system. - 2. NJPDES-DSW Permit J As part of the new NJPDES Permit conditions, the ammonia-N methodology study of the wastewater was started. Results of conventional ammonia-N analyses will be compared with results obtained by a specific ion electrode. The TDS and ammonia-N analyses were instituted during the latter part of the report period. In this program, data for the above parameters will be collected for a period of six months. ' 3. Water Allocation Permit NJDEP-DWR was notified that we accepted the conditions of the Permit. 4. Treatment Works Approval Waiver The NJPDES Regulations require an approval waiver for the installation of the new sludge dewatering equipment. Engineering will be assisted by R.F. Weston in the preparation for submittal of the required documents. This waiver requirement will not influence the construction schedule for the dewatering equipment. TEN 2103 Page 2 B. AIR 1. NESHAP a. Suspension and Dispersion Slurry No excursions reported. b. Reactor and Tower Openings No excursions reported. c. Water Stripper No excursions reported. d. Incinerator No excursions reported. 2. NESHAP Inspection NJDEP-DEQ conducted a follow-up inspection on 11/20/84. VCM, VAM and TCE emission rates from the various post stripper sources were discussed. C. SOLID 1. Landfill Closure j The revised Closure/Post Closure Care Plan for the landfill was sent to NJDEP. Included in the Plan was the Soil Errosion and Sediment Control Plan, which was also submitted to the B.C. Soil Conservation District Office. We received certification of this Plan on 11/28/84 from the District Office. II. OSHA A. VCM 1. Personal Monitoring All thirty employees monitored during this report period revealed 8-hour TWA's below the PEL. B. Lead 1. Personal Monitoring The quarterly lead monitoring was conducted during this report period. Day and afternoon shift personnel were sampled. TEN 2104 Page 3 C. Rlght-To-Know 1. NJDOH The DOH Questionaire was recieved during this report period. III. MISCELLANEOUS A. USGS This Federal Agency took groundwater level readings from the two deep observation wells and production well #5 as part of the Federal Groundwater Level Evaluations Program in the Delaware River Basin.
