Anderson DOA-264-84 February 21, 1984 Asbestos Disposal - Warehouse The following information is provided to assist you in asbestos disposal: 1) Obtain approximately 3 or 4 open top barrels and move to warehouse. Barrels are used for lab hazardous waste disposal and are availa ble through the pilot plant. 2) Obtain plastic barrel liners for asbestos disposal and install in barrels. The liners are in the safety cabinet/warehouse. 3) Locate asbestos materials and place into lined barrels. Note: proper protective equipment (coveralls, gloves and respi rators)* should be worn. 41- -Seal plastic liners. 5) Place top on barrels and seal. 6) Make stencil and label barrels to read Caution: ASBESTOS 7) Transport barrels to hazardous waste storage facility, located west of B-149. 8) When hazardous wastes are removed from premises, these barrels will be included for proper off-site disposal. When items 1 and 2 are completed, I will be glad to supervise, assist or instruct personnel if requested. *lnj impervious Tyvek-type coveralls availabJ> maintenance; gloves (rubber) available in warehouse; respirators available from SH&E (3M-#8710).
